Cine, espionaje y poder: la CIA como herramienta de poder blando

Resumen


La relación entre la CIA y Hollywood, consolidada en 1996 con la creación de una Oficina de Enlace con la Industria de Entretenimiento, ha servido como una herramienta estratégica de la política exterior estadounidense. Con esta colaboración, Estados Unidos ha promovido narrativas favorables a sus intereses, ha legitimado sus acciones en el extranjero y ha moldeado la opinión pública nacional e internacional. Sin embargo, dicha representación mitificada de los servicios de inteligencia se ha visto alterada por la difusión de teorías de la conspiración y por diversos escándalos relacionados con sus prácticas. Este artículo analiza la capacidad de los productos culturales de moldear el imaginario colectivo, siendo usados por las estructuras gubernamentales como un instrumento para proyectar ideales y valores con fines políticos, evidenciando que las dinámicas de poder van más allá de la tradicional dicotomía entre poder duro y poder blando, abarcando otras formas más sutiles.
